Boards & Commissions

The Mayor appoints citizen boards to advise the Mayor and City Council on various specialized topics.  Boards and commissions usually meet monthly, and meetings are open to the public.

Service on a board or commission is a great way to gain understanding of how local government functions, and can be a springboard to service in an elected office.

Board and commission members are generally appointed to 3- or 4-year terms, beginning in January.  To express interest in serving on a board or commission, please send a letter of interest to the Mayor.

It is the greatest of all mistakes to do nothing because you can only do little; do what you can.
